I realize the cap floor end of it for the Caps here but that seems like a lot of salary retained for a relatively even deal otherwise.

You guys disappoint me a bit. Salary retention shouldn't be so blatantly abused like this. Kinda sad.
Final.

Not abused at all, Kruze. It's a hockey deal. Essentially I'm trading cap room for a 1st round pick. It's a move high end teams need to make to accommodate elite players increasing cap hits. He had the cap room needed, I had the pick he wanted. Win/Win.

Bruins/Capitals & Jets/Panthers GM: It's the amount I have a problem with, not term guys. It doesn't matter anyways, you got it through... Doesn't mean I have to like it.

What would it take to get you on board with this trade today? I'll throw in a free air freshener. 😂 So if term is of no issue to you, lets look at this season only. He would have been paying 5.75 in keeping Niskanen. If he decides to play Little, he'll be a hair over 9M. So taking on an extra 3.4M(ish) this season to get a 1st round pick sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If he sends little to the minors he will actually be saving cap and have the 1st to boot. Tell me you feel it now, buddy. I know you do. :-P
