Imo stats and standings should be updated after each row of sims. This would help trading move along smoother. Without proper knowledge of production trades are being based almost exclusively on overall rating.

Getting the summer to do this adds on unneeded tasks. You can even update the standings yourself, I used to do it for old leagues.
