Islanders already have so many bad contracts, not to mention, Cizikas has experience in playing on the wing. I see no value in them adding Abdelkader when they're already spending so much money on players overpaid.
Sutter, Martin, Brown, Clutterbuck, debatably Eberle and Nelson/Abdelkader. Even Filppula and Leddy aren't good contracts.
That's almost 35M in bad contracts. They really don't need Abdelkader.

I completely disagree with all points there other than Sutter's being a bad contract, and even then he's playing above his rating since coming from Vancouver. I would never play Cizikas a winger cuz his FO rating is really good usually. I get that you don't like certain players, and that's fine, but devaluing a player based on like or dislike is wrong too. I'm just a guilty of it when it comes to guys like Ladd and why I took a downgrade on him. I also think Abdelkader & Cizikas would work well together on the Isles 3rd line.

Where's the consistency? lol you got Tyler Bertuzzi for basically nothing because you took Abdelkaders contract. Theres your negative value. If he had even "neutral value" that original deal probably wouldn't have gone through. There also a harder standard on trading between your own teams vs a trade with two different GMs (to answer the "wheres the consistancy"). That said, I probably would have accepted this one (though its already reject/final). I think if you reposted with another, slightly less bad contract (like Martin or Sutter?) going to VGK it would go through. |

Sure... But the compensation given back here was more than ample for the Isles. The "Abdelkader sucks" mentality exuded here, I don't care if you think that or not... I don't think he does and he's a better fit for the Isles right now than in Vegas. So you don't like that. But you wanna bar my secondary team from getting Bertuzzi, under virtually the same circumstances as Vegas took him & Abdelkader on, go ahead... You're still the one being an idiot, not me. |
