Vegas needs a TWD and weren't sure they'd land Campbell. The Isles like Bertuzzi's upside for their 2nd line over Filppula moving forward as well as Leschyshyn over Benson and are willing to roll with 3 goalies to support Jarry as their starter. & Accept

Not sure why the Islanders would want Abdelkader's contract

I agree with Jujubes...I think the deal is fine without Abdelkader...he adds negative value for the Isles which is your second team, where if he was going to your primary team I would let it slide.

Not sure why the Islanders would want Abdelkader's contract They have the cap space and it's a flip of contracts with Nelson as well, plus Abdelkader would be playing 3rd line mins in Brooklyn as opposed to the 4th line in Vegas.

It's not negative value when Brooklyn requires LWs and are weak down the left side beyond JVR and don't have a lot of assets to obtain a higher end one. Plus he's a slight improvement over Filppula who's currently playing wing in Brooklyn, despite his contract.

Nelson's contract is done after this season. Abdelkader has 4 more years after this season. It's a bad contract that adds negative value to the trade. Take him out and I'll accept.

Abdelkader needs to be in there... It's not about his contract, it's a positional move not a contract dump. I find it absolutely hilarious that when a blatant rip job deal is posted, it's accepted, but when a fair trade like this one is posted, where the secondary team is even winning the deal due to Bertuzzi going the other way and a season left of development, it's over analyzed when the player being questioned's value is actually going up due to where he'll be playing in the lineup where he's going as opposed to where he's currently playing in Vegas's lineup.

Accept, secondary teams are basically our first. These sim leagues never fill out so there's no point in wondering about "if someone were to take over.." because they'll never be taken over.

I'm also not understanding where you suddenly think that Abdelkader is of negative value now but wasn't negative value when Wings dumped him on me. Where's the consistency?

Abdelkader has value to the Isles as a LW, which they are lacking at the moment. Bad contract or not, they need LWs badly. I mean I understand protecting secondary teams better than anyone man, but after seeing what we've allowed other teams to do, this deal is vastly more fair than a majority of some of the crap we have allowed thus far. This wasn't a deal meant to screw the Isles at all.
